Adex Announces Appointment of Dr. Norman Betts to Board of Directors

TORONTO , ON , August 3, 2007 -- Adex Mining Inc. ("Adex" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Norman M. Betts, PhD, FCA to the Company's Board of Directors, subject to regulatory approval.

Dr. Betts is an Associate Professor, Faculty of Business Administration, University of New Brunswick and is a Fellow of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA). He also chairs the Board of Starfield Resources Inc. (TSX) and serves on the boards of Tembec Inc. (TSX), Tanzanizian Royalty Exploration (TSX)(AMEX), Chairman Capital Inc. (TSX VENTURE), Rtica Inc., New Brunswick Power Corporation and Export Development Canada. He is a co-chair of the Board of Trustees of the UNB Pension Plan for Academic Employees and is a director of the Nature Conservancy of Canada for the Atlantic region.

A former Finance Minister and Minister of Business New Brunswick with the Province of New Brunswick , Dr. Betts earned a PhD in Management from the School of Business at Queen's University in Kingston , Ontario in 1992.

Dr. Betts has been granted a total of 250,000 options, vesting quarterly over twelve months, and exercisable at $0.40 per share, subject to regulatory approval of his appointment as a director. The options will expire on August 2, 2012.
