Interview on CP 24
Host: Ann Rohmer
Guest: Kabir Ahmed, President and CEO, Adex Mining Inc.

ANN ROHMER: We head to the TSX Broadcast Centre. Kabir Ahmed, President and CEO of Adex Mining Inc. [is here] to talk about the company's latest activities. Now I had a choice of two ways to pronounce the company name: A-dex or Add-dex?

KABIR AHMED: You can pronounce it Adex.

ROHMER: Very good. Thank you I appreciate that. One always wants to get that straight, after all you are very proud of your company and the least that I can do is say it properly. So tell us about any expansion, any changes in the company over the past six months or so.

AHMED: Well first of all Ann, thank you very much for re-inviting me to your program. We spoke last November. At that time, I mentioned to you that Adex Mining trades under the stock symbol ADE on the TSX Venture Exchange. The company owns the Mount Pleasant Mine Property located in New Brunswick and it hosts two definite historical deposit zones, the first being a tungsten-molybdenum deposit zone which was the site of a previous operating mine between 1982 and 1985, and the second deposit zone is a tin and indium deposit. As you may remember in our last conversation, Ann, tungsten and molybdenum are used in the steel production industry whereas tin and indium are used in the electronics manufacturing sector.

ROHMER: And how important is that. I mean, my gosh, you've got the supply, there certainly is the demand out there, isn't there?

AHMED: Yes, absolutely and we're very well focused in moving the advancement of the project towards feasibility. Just recently, we announced the commencement of drilling on both deposits and also the completion of C$3 million flow through financing which will fully fund the drill program for 2008.  The drill program is really designed to achieve two specific objectives. The first being, of course, to increase the quality of the resource estimates. As I mentioned to you, they are historical resources so we want to bring them up to the current technical standards that is mandated by the current securities regulations, and secondly we want to increase the size of the mineral deposit zones by doing exploration drilling which will hopefully increase the value of the project as well as increase the mine life of any future operations.

ROHMER: You know, my time here on CP24, and its been quite a length of time that I've been here, I've begun to develop, and I'm sure a lot of people have, a real interest, a fascination with mining and the technology and the various things that are found in the earth and what they're used for. What's your experience been, before you came to Adex? What brought you to this point?

AHMED: I formally started my career as a securities lawyer and then joined the Toronto Stock Exchange as a corporate finance professional. During my career at the Toronto Stock Exchange we did a lot of mining financing and listings and that's what personally brought my intention to the mining sector and my interest in the mining sector.

ROHMER: Now you've all been gathering for this wonderful convention and conference [PDAC 2008]. How did that go and what did you learn that you didn't know before this mining conference took place?

AHMED: I attended the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada mining conference held in Toronto yesterday.  The word that I heard yesterday, and certainly it showed in the numbers of people attending, is that there were more than 20,000 people attending this conference this year. In my last five or six years of attending this gathering, this was probably by far the largest that we have had to date. Interestingly, mining giant Teck Cominco announced last night the discovery of a billion tonne copper project in northern Chile, and I think this is very indicative of the exciting news that companies like Adex Mining and others in the mining sector will bring to the market over the next few years.

ROHMER:  Extremely exciting. Good to see you. Thank you very much. We'll see you again soon.

AHMED: Thanks so much Ann, again. It has been my pleasure.

ROHMER: And our pleasure as well, thank you.
