He is an Associate Professor at University of New Brunswick (Faculty of Business Administration) and a Fellow of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants. He chairs the Board of Starfield Resources Inc. and serves on other boards, including New Brunswick Power Corporation and Export Development Canada. Betts holds a PhD in Management from Queens University, ON. He is a director with Nature Conservancy of Canada (Atlantic Region).

William B. Burton (BSc in Geology) brings a valuable historical perspective to the Company. He founded Adex in 1992, was its CEO from 1994 to 1998, and oversaw the acquisition of the Mount Pleasant property in 1995. Burton has worked with many publicly traded mining and industrial companies. Whenever possible, he spends time at his coastal farm in Atlantic Canada, where he tends oyster beds and enjoys his extensive art collection of Canadian painters.

Prior joining to Great Harvest Maeta Group Holdings Limited, he has worked as the chief financial officer and company secretary of C Y Foundation Group Limited and China Glass Holdings Limited, which are listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. He was also the financial controller and company secretary of Sing Lee Software (Group) Limited which is a company listed on the Growth Enterprise Market of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
